Former finance minister Rishi Sunak has become the next British prime minister, but not many people know much about him. The former Labour minister lost the leadership election to Liz Truss last September but has now become the fifth person to become prime minister in six years and third in less than two months. He is the first prime minister of South Asian descent and the youngest since World War II. Before being appointed Chancellor of the Excheque r, Sunak served as a parliamentarian in the Ministry of Housing and a chief secretary in the Treasury. He was a Fulbright Scholar and subsequently won the Conservative party's election for MP in Richmond, Yorks, in May 2015. During his tenure as a cabinet minister, he also served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
